Meet Walid Baccouche
When and why did you decide to join Aion Bank
I joined Aion Bank in January 2020. The opportunity to be part of a new challenger bank in Belgium was really attractive considering my interest in digital financial solutions. Aion Bank provides innovative solutions to genuinely help SMEs save time and money. As the world develops and A.I. plays an ever increasing role in our lives, it was clear to me that I wanted to be part of its evolution. At Aion Bank we combine digital solutions with personal support at all levels so we can help our members in the most effective and efficient way.
Where did you work before Aion Bank?
Before starting at Aion Bank, I was in charge of corporate accounts at an international company with a customer-centric strategy. My experience has taught me that the most valuable asset in any successful business is trust. My aim is to build long-term relationships with my clients, finding them the best solutions using the latest technology. I'm confident that Aion Bank is the financial partner many businesses need in order to achieve their goals and I’m ready to support them through every step of their journey.
How have you adapted to meet your customer’s needs during the last year?
The previous year was a challenging year that forced many banks in the industry to find more creative solutions for their clients. As a digital bank, we were already set up and ready to meet many of these challenges. Our fully digital onboarding process combined with digital daily banking, innovative business tools and digital business loans meant we could serve the needs of businesses immediately in these hard times. As a result, our members could spend more of their time focused on their business rather than wasting time on administrative tasks.
What is your top tip for businesses in 2021?
Let your imagination guide you, believe in your projects and dare yourself to be different. I believe that entrepreneurs must focus on innovation and find new solutions to old problems, particularly following the events from last year.
What do you enjoy doing most outside of work?
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends. I'm also desperately waiting for the opening of borders because my wife and I like travelling to warm and sunny countries.
